Srabanti Chatterjee said that she was aware of Roshan through common friends for a while but only met him two years back during a flight way home from Bangladesh. Actress says that they gradually got to know each other and later decided to get married.

Abhimanyu Mukherjee's last directorial ‘Piya Re’ received mixed reactions from the audience and now he is ready to try something new. It’s a fresh pair Abhimanyu wants to give the Bengali audience. For that, Ritwick Chakrabortyand Srabanti Chatterjeeare on board for a yet to be titled social satire. The unusual pair will be seen as Alokesh and Meena, two people who are obsessed with their hair!
The plot sees a twist when Alokesh (Ritwick) starts losing his hair after he applies hair oil.While elaborating on her character, Srabanti says she always has a fascination for cool hairstyles. "My character was a huge fan of Mahendra Singh Dhonitill the time the dashing cricketer had his long locks. Once he chopped it off, she eventually lost her interest." The pretty actress is also excited to work with Riwick for the first time. Ritwick is also quite impressed about the story as he says, “It’s a unique subject which can be made into a superb entertaining film.”
Camera will start rolling from later this month. The film is being produced by Surinder Films. This year Abhimanyu has made two films – ‘Noor Jahan’ and ‘Piya Re’. He has one more film in the pipeline which stars Koel Mallick, Gaurav Chakrabartyand popular TV actor Ravi Shaw in the lead.

Bengali actor Srabanti Chatterjee, who recently joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kolkata, on March 03 said she wants to work on ground for the betterment of West Bengal, and also work for BJP’s ‘Sonar Bangla’ ahead of state assembly elections. He said, “I have been working on screen for many years and people have given me a lot of love. I want to work with the people on ground and do something for West Bengal.”

Soham Chakrabortyand Srabanti Chatterjee, who were last seen together in Birsa Dasgupta's ‘Sudhu Tomari Jonyo’, are all geared up for their next ‘Piya Re’. Srabanti is also excited about her upcoming ‘Piya Re’ which is releasing this Friday. She has promised an amazing love story to her audience. "You will love ‘Piya Re’. The audience will get to see a unique love story after a long time," said Srabanti.
