It was the time when cinema was expanding, India got it's first colour movie and several faces entertained the audience going on to becoming superstars. Born in Agra in 1933, Nimmi was born as Nawab Bano. It was Kapoor who changed her name. She was the daughter of a singer Waheeda who was "adopted sister" of Mehboob Khan, a famous filmmaker during the time, Waheeda married Agra's military contractor Abdul Hakim.
Nimmi was only 11 when her mother passed away. After getting her first movie, she shifted to Bombay (Now Mumbai). She was sent to live with her grandmother Rawalpindi.
Her debut film, Barsaat was released in 1949 and was a massive commercial success. Despite other famous faces, Nimmi was appreciated by the audience.
Here on it was only upwards and forwards for her. She was flooded with good offers. Hashmi was born on 24 March 1979, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His father, Syed Anwar Hashmi, is a businessman, who also acted in the mystery film Baharon Ki Manzil (1968), and his mother, Maherrah Hashmi, was a homemaker. His paternal grandfather, Syed Shaukat Hashmi, migrated to Pakistan after the partition of India, where he worked as a journalist and as a film director, while his grandmother, Meherbano Mohammad Ali (known by her screen name Purnima), was an actress, who stayed in India.
