Fall so hard the veronicas biography
I feel so untouched and I want you so much that I just can't resist you...
The Veronicas are Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, both born on December 25, 1984. Twins from Brisbane, Australia, both are self-taught guitarists and piano players known internationally for their catchy pop songs and sisterly antics.
Their first album, The Secret Life Of... was punky acoustic Power Pop, their second, Hook Me Up was dancey synthpop, and their third, The Veronicas is dark progressive pop with country, electronic and blues elements. Jess has described their music as like "if you melted a Barbie into some black nail polish and then sprinkled it with glitter and then maybe put some spit on it."
During the lack of album releases, Lisa started a side project called "Dead Cool Dropouts" with her close friend Tyler Bryant of Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown with Garageband, focusing on acoustic breakup songs; Bryant later contributed to their third album. Jess also had her own side project called Cakehole in 2007, which has a pleasant song called "Stab You."
After being stuck in Development Hell for over five years, they split from Sire Records and signed with Sony Music. Since then, they released their long-awaited third album, put out three singles from said album, and began writing their next. They have planned on filming a documentary, writing a book, and recording an EP as well as touring.
They briefly appeared as substitute coaches for The Madden Brothers of Good Charlotte on The Voice in 2016. They released a non-album single "In My Blood" while coaching, and it is intended to be a lead up to their fourth album.
They have worked with Clif Magness (who has written with Avril Lavigne), Billy Steinberg (Madonna, Cyndi Lauper), Max Martin (Britney Spears, Katy Perry), Eric Nova, Dead Mono, Vince Degiorgio, Toby Gad (Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys) and Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins.
Not to be confused with Betty and Veronica, but they did appear in a comic book& I hate to say it, but they play this damn song in every club Boys and girls pretend to know me, they try so hard Most guys I dated got intimidated, so now I date up Boys and girls pretend to know me, they try so hard You always wanna be 'round me, so you know what it's like Boys and girls pretend to know me, they try so hard Boys and girls pretend to know me, they try so hard In the seven years since the release of their last album, Hook Me Up, Australian twin sisters Lisa and Jess Origlassio fought a highly publicized battle with their old record label, traveled the world to find inspiration for their masterful and biting songwriting, fell in and out of love, and above all else, rediscovered themselves artistically. Their comeback single, “You Ruin Me,” off their new and superb album The Veronicas (released via Sony’s Red label), spent several weeks at #1 in Australia and quickly became certified over 3x platinum. After a hugely successful and hotly anticipated tour in their homeland, The Veronicas have returned to the United States for a series of intimate, acoustic shows before bringing their full rock concert stateside later in the year. I caught up with the girls over a bar of peanut butter chocolate about their new record and its upcoming deluxe edition, the band’s rebirth, their gorgeous latest music videos, their passionate social activism, their Real Housewives taglines, and much more. JESS: Do you like peanut butter? You have to try this chocolate, it’s so good. ALEX: I love peanut butter. Thank you! LISA: Jess, what the fuck? How did you know this was so good? JESS: I just saw it at the Whole Foods on Houston Street. Listen to the description on the wrapper: “creamy peanut butter cradled in dark chocolate.” LISA: Are you kidding? I would like to jump in that. JESS: I like how it says “cradled.” That’s so specifically worded. ALEX: That is seriously unreal. I don’t want it to end. So, there was a seven year gap between the releases of Hook Me Up and your new and self-titled album. In your opinion, how had the landscape of pop music changed between these two records and in what ways – if at all – did that impact you as artists/songwriters while creating this album? LISA: Oh god, was it that long?! I thought we’re getting y Vocal duo The Veronicas are an Australian pop duet and pair of identical twin sisters, Lisa and Jessica Origliasso. Writing and performing since their early teens, the pair rocketed to stardom after signing with a music publisher in 2004 who worked with them on crafting radio-friendly pop fare. Their debut LP, The Secret Life of…, spent most of 2006 on the Australian Top 40 album charts. Writing in Billboard, Sven Philipp called them a "perfect teen pop/rock dream" and their original music "a cutesy concoction of surefire hooks, self-affirming vocals and youthful energy." The Origliassos were born on December 25, 1984, in Brisbane, and Lisa is the older of the two by a minute. Of Italian heritage, they grew up in Albany Creek, a suburb of Brisbane, and began singing together at the age of five. They were extremely close, as is common with many sets of twins. "When we're separated I tend to get quite shy," Lisa told Australia's Sydney Morning Herald journalist Christine Sams. "Not to the point that I used to get, before we did the whole Veronicas thing, but before that I couldn't say much at all, because I wouldn't really talk." As youngsters the Origliassos entered local talent shows, and during their teens recorded three albums as "Lisa and Jessica." They later used the name The Teal before settling on The Veronicas, taking it from the long-running comic book character Veronica Lodge. "Veronica stood out," Lisa told Malcolm Venable, a writer for the Virginian Pilot. "She had a bit of an attitude." After graduating from high school, they pursued their career ambitions in earnest, and gained major exposure when they were cast on a children's television series in Australia called Cybergirl in 2001. They lived in Los Angeles for a time, in an attempt to break into the music business, but had better luck back in Australia when they met Hayden Bell, music director for the Bell Hughes Music Group (BHMG).
