    The Royals (TV series)

    American television drama series

Not to be confused with The Royal.

The Royals is an American primetime television drama soap opera that premiered on E! on March 15, 2015. Created by Mark Schwahn and starring Elizabeth Hurley, it is the network's first scripted series. It began as a loose adaptation of the 2011 Michelle Ray novel Falling for Hamlet. E! renewed it for a second season two months before its debut, and picked up a third season on January 5, 2016. E! renewed it for a fourth season on February 16, 2017, which began airing on March 11, 2018. E! cancelled the series after four seasons in August 2018. Lionsgate Television was shopping the series to other networks with discussions for a pick-up by sister network Pop, but on September 24, Lionsgate failed to find a new home for the series and it was officially cancelled.

Hurley stars as Queen Helena, a fictional contemporary queen consort of The United Kingdom, along with William Moseley and Alexandra Park as her twin children, Prince Liam and Princess Eleanor; Jake Maskall as Helena's brother-in-law and nemesis, the new King Cyrus; Tom Austen as Eleanor's bodyguard and blackmailer, Jasper Frost; and Oliver Milburn as Ted Pryce, the Royal Family's head of security. Season 1 also starred Vincent Regan as Helena's husband, King Simon, and Merritt Patterson as Liam's love interest, Ophelia Pryce.

February 14 marks the 20th anniversary of YouTube’s founding

20 years ago this week, the world was introduced to a platform that went on to redefine video sharing, internet culture, and creator content. On February 14, 2005, ex-PayPalemployees Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karimofficially founded YouTube.

As the story goes, YouTube was initially conceived as a video-forward dating site before eventually taking shape as a home for user-generated videos of all types. Years after the fact, Karim noted that the “Nipplegate” — i.e. the fallout from Justin Timberlakeand Janet Jackson’s Nsfw Super Bowl routine — influenced the YouTube founders’ decision to develop an on-demand video service.

The rest, as they say, is history. YouTube went on to become a pop culture behemoth, spawning wave after wave of influential creators. Chen, Hurley, and Karim ceded control to Googleafter a $1.65 billion deal that closed in 2006. Now, two decades after its founders first registered the YouTube name, the indomitable...

In the’ two-and-a-half-hour finale, it was revealed that OceanicAirline flight 815 hadn't crashed; the characters had been in a purgatory-like "flash-sideways" version of the afterlife.

The final scene of the show depicted the Lostcharacters reuniting in a church before moving into the afterlife together. The Lostseries finale was interpreted in many ways, leading to varied opinions on how effective the ending was. With the myst
