Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, made his debut in the Netflix adaptation of the iconic comic series, The Archies. In a recent interview with Film Companion, Agastya shared insights into his journey as an actor, shedding light on the amusing and sometimes awkward experiences he encountered while seeking opportunities in the film industry.

The young actor shared that he had auditioned for the role in The Archies and has actively visited filmmakers at their offices in pursuit of more work. Being relatively unknown in film circles due to his absence from social media and growing up in Delhi away from the cinematic hubbub, Agastya shared some humorous instances of being mistaken for someone else.

Agastya recalled a moment where he visited a filmmaker’s office and was misunderstood by the security guard. He narrated, “I had gone to another office where the security guard was like, ‘Idhar aa, idhar aa (come here).’ He said, ‘Naam likh. Package delivery time bata. (Write down your name and the delivery time of the package).’ I said I’ve not come here to deliver the package, I’ve come here to meet the director. Then he said, ‘Nahi nahi, jhooth mat bol (No, don’t lie).’ This happens quite a lot. The disadvantages of not having social media.”

The actor also shared another incident where he was made to wait for 45 minutes at a filmmaker’s office, only to overhear the staff discussing why he had not arrived yet. Agastya had to clarify his identity and explain that he had been patiently waiting for close to an hour.
