LEBANON, VIRGINIA – April Star Crawford, 38, passed away on Saturday, December 28,
She was born in Abingdon, Virginia. April loved to work at Food City, where she was the Employee of the Month twice and the Employee of the Year. April attended Bible Way Church in Raven, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Goldie Crawford, and her step-mother, Martha Crawford.
April is survived by her father; David Crawford Sr., her mother; Charlene Browning, her brother; David “DJ” Crawford, Jr., her uncle; Michael Crawford and wife, Helen, her aunt; Judy Marshall, and her cousins; Tristen and Abigail Marshall.
Funeral Services for April Star Crawford will be conducted at a.m., Friday, January 3, , at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia, with Pastor Seth Burke officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Tristen Marshall, Mike Crawford, Doug Marshall, Logan Hall, Adam Wade, and Logan Boyd.
The family will receive friends from a.m. until a.m., Friday, January 3, , at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
The family would like to give special thanks to Cumberland Mountain Community Services Board for the many dedicated years of loving and taking care of her; Elk Garden Group Home staff; Cumberland Day Support staff; Stand Up staff; her staff and friends at Food City in Pounding Mill, Virginia; Mandy Dye, manager of the Elk Garden Group Home; and Amber Gross, Case Manager at Cumberland Mountain.

April Deann Crawford
April Deann Crawford, 48 of Oliver Springs passed away August 13, She was born September 3, to Henry William Matthews and Thelma Elaine Matthews of Houghton Lake, Michigan.
April was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a masters in human resources and a bachelors in criminal justice. She enjoyed cooking and gardening with her husband, DJ Crawford who she had been with for 15 years. She also enjoyed purchasing antiques and trinkets for her family.
The loved ones who survive April are her husband, DJ Crawford, her three children, Buddy Ochoa, Patrick Crawford, and Heather Crawford. As well as her grandson, Arthur Crawford whom she loved very much.
April was a beautiful and kind woman who will be forever missed by her family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 24, at Jackson Funeral Home and Cremation in Oliver Springs. Visitation will be from with the service beginning at 12 noon, officiated by Rev. Nancy Coleman.
