Linda Sue Parker OBITUARY
LINDA SUE PARKER Linda Sue Parker of Banning, CA was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on June 3, 2018. She was 74 years old and is survived by her loving husband Marvin (Ed) Parker; son Matthew Parker; daughter-in-law Shasta Parker; grandsons Aiden (10), Seth (8), Grayson (1); daughter Tiffany Drewry; son-in-law Michael Drewry; granddaughters Izabella (10) and Adelyn (9 months).
Linda was a life long Banning resident. She had a way of running into someone she knew everywhere she went. No one was a stranger to her. She worked at Security Pacific Bank for many years and eventually moved on to a clerical position at Hoffer Elementary School in Banning which she retired from. She was very involved at her church, Fellowship in the Pass, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her kind and loving spirit will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.

The GTOs (Girls Together Outrageously) were an all-girl group from the Los Angeles area, specifically the Sunset Strip scene. The group was active for two and a half years (1968–1970), followed by one reunion performance in 1974. Their only album, Permanent Damage, was produced by Frank Zappa and released in 1969.
Personnel
- Miss Pamela, born Pamela Ann Miller (later Pamela Des Barres) on September 9, 1948, in Reseda, California, is the most commercially successful of the GTOs.
- Miss Mercy, a.k.a. Mercy Fontenot, was born Judith Edra Peters in Burbank, California on February 15 or 16, 1949. After the breakup of the GTOs in 1971, Fontenot married the guitarist Shuggie Otis. They divorced, and their son Lucky Otis (also a musician) was raised by his grandparents, the R&B musician Johnny Otis and his wife Phyllis. Miss Mercy died on July 27, 2020.
- Miss Cynderella (also spelled Miss Cinderella) was born Cynthia Sue Wells (later Cynthia Cale-Binion) on January 26, 1952, in Los Angeles, California. Wells married John Cale of The Velvet Underground in 1971, but the marriage was rocky, and they divorced in 1975. Cale's song "Guts" opens with the line "The bugger in the short sleeves fucked my wife" (referring to Kevin Ayers' sleeping with Wells in 1974).
- Miss Christine (sometimes known as Miss Crispy), born Christine Ann Frka on November 27, 1949, in San Pedro, California, was the first babysitter for Moon Unit Zappa, Frank Zappa's first daughter. She is shown on the front cover of Frank Zappa'
Linda Thurston Parker Browder
Linda Thurston Parker Browder, a lifelong beloved member of the Bristol community, passed away on January 2, at the age of 80. Linda was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Lindy, grandmother, and treasured friend to many. She was known for her warmth, her giving spirit, and her love for her family. Linda lived a joyful life, full of kindness, laughter, and compassion. She had the extraordinary ability to make everyone in her presence feel appreciated and loved.
She was preceded in death by her mother Thelma Thurston Pullon and father Curtis Thurston; brothers, Curtis “Bo” Thurston, Sammy Thurston, Ronald “Ronnie” Thurston, and sister, Marcy “Missy” Cardwell. She is survived by her loving husband, R. Michael (Mike) Browder, of Bristol, Tennessee; son Michael Parker and his wife Danielle of Bristol, Tennessee; Mike’s son, Bob Browder and his wife Sherry of Knoxville, Tennessee; Mike’s daughter, Lisa Browder Rainero and her husband Joe, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; her six grandchildren, Charles Rainero III of Charleston, South Carolina, Holston Rainero of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Robert Browder of Knoxville, Tennessee, Mary Wallace Rainero of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Will Parker of Bristol, Tennessee, and Wyatt Parker of Bristol, Tennessee; brother Dicky Thurston, of Bristol, Tennessee; sister Ann Lane of Bristol, Tennessee; and, loving caregiver, Lisa Belcher, of Bristol, Tennessee.
Linda was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many. She had a passion for community service, and she lived her life in service to others. She was one of six women invited to join the Rotary Club of Bristol in 1987, the same year women were first permitted to Rotary Clubs worldwide. She was installed as the first female president of the Rotary Club of Bristol in 1991.
